Simians! Cyborgs! Gather round (some of you might get that joke).
My name is Bryce, and I’m here to bring you Privilege FTW, a new column about those political arguments where privilege gets all the winning. It gets so much winning in these features that it completely undermines the political argument! The goal is to maybe troll it (just a little, because it’s funny), but to offer an equally hilarious counter proposition – we are an advice site for gawd’s sake.
As someone who has poured a great deal of energy into feminist gender politics over the past 5 years – I was a late bloomer, but the structures of masculinity take some working through – , the majority of Privilege FTW material comes from my own reading of the awesome feminist blogs in the world (wide web). But don’t take this as anti-feminist, it’s anti-stupid. And I will surely tackle other types of arguments and propositions. Mitt Romney and the Republicans are low hanging fruit, as are the awesome kidz at the FoxNewses, and all of awesome librul pluralists are always saying something dumb.
And sometimes, I’m sure it will happen because it does to the best of us, my own system of privilege will get the best of me. That’s what the comments section is for.
